Welcome to the 185th week of Julian Assange Sydney Town Hall gatherings.
This morning, we learned that corrupt power decided to play its hand, in its decision to go against all common decency and the rule of law, to reject Julian Assange’s application to appeal against the US extradition. Julian’s lawyers are now preparing to appeal this latest decision. It is important that we remain positive. We can use this decision to help free Julian because it further confirms the corruption of the UK judicial system. People are waking up! We need to focus our attention on the need for people to unite against this corruption of our systems of government. Anything that furthers unity is a good thing. Let’s make it work for all of us. Let’s unite and stand with Julian in the fight to defeat corruption!
People come together to express their support for democratic solutions when they are fully and truthfully informed. Those who oppose democracy are motivated to distract people from the relevance of truthful information. Lies are told, psychological operations are enacted, and wars are waged. Ordinary people engulfed in fear miss or ignore this important truth. We all need to realise that our politicians and the mainstream media collude to push narratives that legitimise the corrupted system.
Whenever the media report anything, we can see that they report it in particular ways, and for particular purposes. Those who are powerful enough to control politicians and the mainstream media make sure the narratives are self-serving. They certainly don’t want ordinary people realising that our political system, including the media, has been rigged against us. They certainly don’t want us uniting over our need to be truthfully informed. They certainly don’t want us uniting for our betterment in any shape or form.
Julian Assange is fighting extradition to the US because he made the reality of our corrupt system clear for ordinary people to see, by the action of publishing large volumes of evidence, that are in the public interest. It is important that everyone ceases to deny the corruption of the system that Julian has exposed. Julian is completely innocent, but he continues to be held in solitary confinement by the UK on behalf of the US, because he has done more than anyone to expose the corruption of our systems of government. There is absolutely no legitimate reason for Julian’s persecution, yet the system continues to operate as if Julian did something terribly wrong.
The unity of ordinary people is all we need to defeat illegitimate power. We need to spend our time on facilitating our unity! We need the truth and its relevance to be known far and wide! Julian is a hero for everything he has published. We must stand together with Julian for our right to be truthfully informed. We must stand together for the freedom of honest public-interest journalism!
There is a pressing reason for us to all stand in unity with Julian Assange! Don’t be distracted! Keep fighting!
