Welcome to the 195th week of Julian Assange Sydney Town Hall Gatherings!
We are in an information war and it won’t end until Julian Assange is free! As predicted, here at Sydney Town Hall, a plea deal is now being utilised as a propaganda smear in relation to the illegal detention of Julian Assange. The plea deal narrative appears to have been carefully crafted to imply, like all the previous unfounded smears, that Julian did something wrong! There is nothing wrong in what he did! Exposing the criminality of the powerful for the benefit of ordinary people is true altruism! He is completely and 100 per cent innocent! This latest smear, like all previous smears, takes the public’s attention away from the corruption of democracy and diverts it to the false slurring of a public hero!
Plea deals are repugnant. They are a corruption of justice! They assist the powerful in distracting us from their own guilt, while falsely adding weight to their smearing of innocent people! Politically enabled plea deals must be seen as a corruption of democracy! We do need there to be suitable punishments for those who are justly found guilty, but we need unconditional freedom for those, who like Julian Assange, are innocent.
However, this ‘plea deal’ is being talked about by the USA. They are feeling the political pressure, as indicated by the US Ambassador to Australia, Caroline Kennedy’s comments that it’s coming from them, not Julian Assange.
Those responsible for war crimes exposed in relevant leaked public-interest information, are free! Those, guilty of despicable acts, are often treated like heroes by politicians and the mainstream press, but they need to be brought to justice in the public interest! We need the public’s attention on solving the real crimes of our society! All war crimes must be transparently investigated and prosecuted and those found guilty of vile acts, must face consequences appropriate to the harm they caused.
Human rights exist because humanity exists. To live peacefully with others, we must afford the same human rights to others, as we would want for ourselves. Those responsible for violating human rights must always be held accountable. Those responsible for trampling on the human rights of Julian Assange must be brought to justice by the people, because they are misusing their power to protect themselves. We must come together to implement true justice!
We need to put those wrongly imprisoning Julian Assange on trial! We need to put those responsible for the crimes he exposed on trial and we need to put those who are covering up the crimes he exposed on trial. Stand up for democracy! Help free Julian Assange.
