Welcome to the 186th week of Julian Assange Sydney Town Hall Gatherings.
We all have the right to know public-interest truth. If this right is violated, we are living under tyranny. The only viable solution to a tyranny is for the people to unite! The people must unite to create the conditions necessary to be able to freely access public-interest truth. These are the conditions that are necessary for transparent democracy.
There are two parts to a corrupt system. A part that is normally plain to see and the part that is not normally seen. The part that is plain to see gives the impression of democracy, freedom and justice, but the part that is hidden from view, is very much about control, oppression and slavery. The hidden part is the very corruption of democracy, freedom and justice.
We can no longer deny that our democratic system has been corrupted. The 15-year persecution and 12 year detention of Julian Assange gives us clear evidence of this corruption! Mainstream propaganda narratives lead people to deny corruption exists, by using well weaponised terms such as conspiracy theorists, to demonise those who espouse perspectives that don’t align with the mainstream, status quo, view of the world.
Julian Assange published hard evidence that reveals people in positions of power, often work secretly, to enable unlawful and harmful acts. Because of the work of Julian Assange and Wikileaks, we know that conspiracies exist in the present day and that people in positions of power conspire against the interests of the general population. It is important that government officials are honest, above board and work for our benefit, but Julian Assange has shown that the government representatives sometimes worked against these principals.
To make matters worse, Julian Assange has been persecuted for revealing information in the public interest, while those responsible for the crimes are free and celebrated by both politicians and the corporate media. The corruption denial forms the basis of propaganda and censorship. We cannot afford corruption denial. We are being harmed through the corruption of democracy and we need to do something about it fast. We need to make defeating corruption, our utmost priority.
The solution to corruption always resides in our ability to unite, but we are currently very divided. Many people realise much is wrong with how things are, but we have many different groups competing with each other. The media can help bring about division by fabricating groupings of different people and demonising some of them and gaining favour with others. In this way the media help those who rule to divide and conquer those who are ruled! The media is the driving force for reinforcing the labelling of various groupings. Labels include far right, far left, communist, socialist, woke, Nazi, white supremacist, misogynist, antisemitic, trans-gender and social justice warrior etc. We must drop these mainstream ad hominem labels, because they are used to divide us. We must work to bring everyone together for the common cause of defeating the corruption of democracy.
Only through our unity, will we defeat corruption. We may never be able to come together on many things, but we will come together on most of the big things, like our need to know the truth, our need for peace and our need for governments to respect our human rights.
The journalism of Julian Assange is about setting up the conditions for bringing forth the big things. We may all express our unity on the big things, by helping to free Julian Assange.
